My fiance makes blades and created this handmade utility knife. This knife is a total of 28” long with a 9” mesquite handle pinned together with brass. The metal used for the knife is S7 and has been through a deep cryo, after proper heat treat and temper bringing the metal to 58 rc. At 3 ½ pounds this knife has been well used and can withstand almost anything you care to use it on.
We always used it to cut down trees or (once) to kill wild dogs, but I'm sure sheep would easily be split with this knife. We sold it a few months ago and as far as I know the guy who bought it uses it to clear land.
My bf makes blades as well. His are a lot longer. Err...okay...he makes swords...but this is still beautiful!
This is a picture of his knife, he's made swords as well I just don't have any pictures, and he hasn't been able to do anything recently-needs a new tool. His knives are 28" think of how long his swords are-lol
